Since Leah has been born she has struggled with food and feeding. The lasted is that she will no longer be eating baby food, she has decided that she’s done with that. I use to give her toast for breakfast and she’s done with that too. I am in question now of what to feed her. Things she will eat are pb& j’s, pancakes & french toast(no syrup-to slimy for her), chicken nuggets(but only the frozen foster farm ones), pizza(she can eat a whole piece) and fries from MacDonald’s. Is it possible for a child to live off of these things? no wonder she’s gained 3 pounds since July!! I have been to a nutritionist and they give idea’s but honestly they aren’t educated in feeding a Down Syndrome child. Leah has issues with texture and also reflux……..it may be time to see a specialist in Portland-ugh!
Here are some cut pics of her eating chicken nuggets for lunch!

It’s always a struggle getting Antalya to eat too. As soon as I find something she will eat, and then give it to her a couple days in a row she’s done with it, and won’t eat it again. I end up trying all sorts of things, and changing it up as much as possible. Two days ago I gave her wheat toast with yogurt to dip it in for breakfast – she loved it (normally she won’t eat yogurt, because of texture issues), so I tried the same thing yesterday and she started gagging as soon as she saw the yogurt. I try to only give her whole grains so that everything she does end up eating really counts (whole wheat crackers, bread, brown rice, etc). Have you tried fruit smoothies? Sometimes Antalya loves that.
Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be!
